Phnom Sampov Bat Cave is one of Battambang’s most famous natural attractions. Located about 12 km southwest of the city, the limestone hill of Phnom Sampov is home to temples, caves, and a large colony of bats.
Every evening at sunset (around 5:30–6:30 PM), hundreds of thousands of bats stream out of the cave in a long, flowing ribbon across the sky to feed. The spectacle can last 30–45 minutes and is a highlight for visitors.
