Odar Meanchey Attractions
Oddar Meanchey is a remote province in northwestern Cambodia, bordering Thailand and offering a genuine off-the-beaten-path experience. Its capital, Samraong, is the main hub for travelers exploring the region. Much of the province is covered by the Dangrek Mountains, once home to the last Khmer Rouge strongholds, leaving behind several sites of historical significance. Improved roads now make travel easier, with two border crossings to Thailand, O Smach–Chong Chom and Choam–Chong Sa Ngam in regular use. Less visited than other destinations, Oddar Meanchey rewards travelers with ancient temples, forested landscapes, local markets, and an authentic glimpse of rural Cambodian life.
