Banteay Srei Temple

Banteaysrei is the most beautiful temple of Cambodia constructed with pink sandstone which has much better quality than grey sandstone used to build Angkor Wat, Bayon, Taprom and other temples.

Pink sandstone is very hard that makes the carving of Banteay Srei still very exquisite although it’s more than 1000 years old.

Banteay Srei temple is considered as a jewel of art of Khmer civilization. Most visitors feel in deep appreciation with its special workmanship.

Departure early in the morning, ideally around 7:00 AM, to maximize your time at the temples.

Your driver would take you to Banteay Srei temple, located about 25 km northeast of Siem Reap. The journey takes approximately 30-45 minutes.

Lunch Break: Take a break for lunch at a nearby restaurant or picnic area. Enjoy some local Khmer cuisine before continuing your journey.

Afternoon:Travel to Banteay Samre: After lunch, head towards Banteay Samre temple, which is located about 15 km east of Banteay Srei. The drive takes approximately 20-30 minutes.

Explore Banteay Samre: Arrive at Banteay Samre and explore the temple complex. Admire the well-preserved architecture and serene atmosphere of this less-visited temple.

Late Afternoon/Evening:

  Return to Siem Reap: Depart from Banteay Samre and return to Siem Reap in the late afternoon or early evening.

Depending on your schedule, you may have time to explore Siem Reap further or relax at your accommodation.

This itinerary allows you to visit both Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre temples in one day, with enough time to fully appreciate each site without feeling rushed.
